I am your Neighbour

Whilst robbing a house one night three intruders become unwitting witnesses to the defiling of a young girl at the hands of her father. Two of the intruders believe it best to keep quiet about the incident, the other disagrees.

Biblical connection

The inspiration behind "I am your Neighbour" is the story of the Good Samaritan. The moral of the story of the Good Samaritan is to "love your neighbour as yourself" (Luke 10:25-37). My narrative pushes that ideal an extra mile by compromising the freedom, compassion and moral courage of three individuals who find themselves in a predicament that was driven by greed and gross unaccountability. Gender Based Violence is an epidemic in South Africa and no cure seems to be apparent. I thought it necessary to explore this problem too as it is often swept under the rug until public outcry deems it fitting to readdress and reevaluate.
